I am pleased to announce the fifth "Japan international seafood show Osaka" that is targeting the Kansai and western Japanese markets to everybody engaged in the seafood and food industries. The previous event was able to achieve the record number of visitors totaling 9,159. Seeing their appearance in rows and enthusiastic business negotiations made me feel strongly about their warm support to the seafood industry. I would like to acknowledge again the favor of all the visitors and exhibitors. Visited buyers forwarded us an enormous number of positive evaluations and acclaims. However, since we also received many requests such as "We would like to see fish from all over Japan" and "We would like to find as many processed seafood as possible," we decided to propose a new exhibit requirement from this year in order to recruit as many exhibitors as possible. In response to many additional voices forwarded to us, such as "Would it be possible to schedule the dates that we could have plenty of time for business negotiation toward the midyear gift sales season?" and "It would be happy to have the seafood show schedule to greet the New Year here in Osaka," we advanced the dates to late January from this fiscal year. In the world, rise in concern for health, safety and reliability made benefit of seafood is recognized, and its demand is definitely increasing. It is our hope that consumers in Japan also reacknowledge the benefit of seafood with your effort. We hope, at this "Seafood Show Osaka," that you will find opportunities to meet and greet your buyers for the New Year in fresh spirit; to reintroduce your traditional products; to announce new ideas; and to discuss sales for the summer gift season.
